Greetings to all as we are together again for our regular communication
We are very happy to announce that we have a new teacher, Mrs Marianna Papasavva, appointed by the Ministry of Education to join our "Centre of Education" which is an integral part of the whole concept of Community. Mrs Papasavva has already started her work at our School, we warmly welcome her, and she is considered to be an honorary member of this Community.
As we do every year since our arrival to this town, on Sunday 10th of November 2024, we were present to place a wreath at the Memorial of Stony Stratford, to honor the memory of the many brave soldiers who fell on the line of duty defending their country.
Time is flying, we have just passed the middle of November, the Feast of St Philip on the 15th, marked the start of the Christmas Fasting, an easy to follow as fish and seafood are permitted.
Continuing the program one Sunday on-one Sunday off, our Church will be open on 24th for Orthros & H. Liturgy at the usual time of 9.30am and after the Service the Memorial of our beloved Yiorgoulla Wheeler will take place.
On Saturday 30 November our Community will participate in the town's Christmas Lights Event with Mulled Wine and Roasted Chestnuts from 4pm.
The "OUR PLACE" regular 1st Saturday of the month 10.30am to 3pm event, on 7/12 will have a Chrismassy theme with Traditional Melomakarona and Kourabiedes in addition to other desserts, tea and a variety of coffees. A Mini Greek Produce Bazaar, with Olive Oil, Olives etc will be included to enrich the atmosphere.
Next day, Sunday 8th of December will see the culmination of marking our 35 Years Anniversary by Celebrating the Feast of the two Protector Saints of our Community, Stylianos and Ambrosios, with Artoklasia followed by refreshments within the Church Building -Classrooms/Dining Rooms.
At 9.30am there will be a Church Service on Sunday the 22nd and The CHRISTMAS SERVICE 2024 will be celebrated on Christmas Eve Tuesday 24th December at 6pm, reviving the accustomed tradition of this Community. Traditional Refreshments will be on offer when we will gather at the Classrooms/Dining area of the Church building with Kallanda and Carols to Welcome The Big Festival of The Nativity.
