As we celebrate Renewal Week, we extend our warmest wishes to all members, parishioners, and friends of our community. May you have a Happy and Blessed New Year.

Together with our priest, Father Gregory, our treasurer, the Ecclesiastical and Community Committee—including the Auxiliary Ladies Brotherhood of St. Demetrius—the school administration, and the team managing our Community Hall, we express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us during Holy Week. Your contributions helped ensure the services, from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday, were conducted smoothly and with reverence.

Each service carries its own rhythm and sacred order. All those involved made a dedicated effort to maintain proper observation of the Typikon, in accordance with the guidance of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira under the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

We are thankful for the offerings of every individual. There is no need to mention names—each person knows what they contributed. Whether it was decorating the Cubicle/Kouvouklion that temporarily houses the Icon of the Epitaph, donating flowers or funds, assisting with the baskets, serving in the Sanctuary, helping clean the church, or bringing red eggs, Easter cookies, and bread to share after the Resurrection Service—your efforts were deeply appreciated.

The photographs show the beautifully decorated Cubicle or Tomb (The “Kouvouklion”), which was transferred on the night of the Resurrection to the Chapel of Our Lady of Vlachernae. It now stands beside the left aisle of our Holy Church. In the place of the Epitaph Icon rests a small Icon of the Risen Christ, symbolizing, “As God, He rose from the tomb…” This icon will remain there until the Feast of the Ascension.

We may be few in number, but we remain faithful to the promise made when our community was founded: to serve the needs of the Greek Orthodox faithful in this region—spiritually, educationally, morally, and culturally—preserving both our traditions and the language of the Gospel. Our congregation also includes fellow Orthodox Christians who join us in prayer under one roof.

As we look to the future with hope, we ask for your continued support to help us fulfill our mission.

We also remember those who have departed, leaving behind not only material contributions, but also an enduring legacy of their example.

Once again,

Christ is Risen—Happy Easter to all!

Vespers of Love - 11am, Sunday April 20, 2025.

Dear Parishioners, Members and Friends of our Community. On Sunday after the Vespers of Love in which the Holy Gospel will be read in several languages, the Courtyard of the First Church/Community Hall will be available for anyone who wants to come and celebrate the Day of the Lamb with us.

This year we will take a break from the established custom in our Community of <<Obelia on the coals>>, but you will be able to bring with you your own food, juices, drinks, etc., even small portable grills.

We remind you that when we finish dancing, we must take our waste with us and leave the area clean.

Hoping to have you with us

Many and heartfelt wishes,

Happy Easter
